Description
Spirits Chartreuse cuvée "MOF" from the Distillerie des Pères Chartreux
The Pères Chartreux distillery, nestled in the heart of the majestic mountains of the French Alps, is a true treasure of the art of distillation. Founded in the eighteenth century by Carthusian monks, this distillery perpetuates a centuries-old tradition in the creation of a unique liqueur in the world: Chartreuse. The Pères Chartreux are devoted to the production of this mystical herbal beverage, the recipe of which they are the only ones who know and pass down from generation to generation. The Pères Chartreux's commitment to quality and tradition make their distillery an iconic link for spirits lovers around the world.
This Chartreuse Jaune from the Distillerie des Pères Chartreux is a liqueur created in 1842 according to the recipe of the Vegetable Elixir and is so popular that it alone will allow the creation of the "Chartreuse" brand by Father Garnier. It is obtained through the distillation and maceration of 130 plants, flowers, barks, roots and spices whose composition and proportions are known only to the order of the pères chartreux. The difference between green and yellow chartreuse is precisely in the proportions of each herb used in the recipe. Yellow Chartreuse is characterized by its sweetness, spicy fragrances and natural color. It then ages for a long time in oak barrels before being bottled and continuing to develop in the bottle.
