SPECIAL CHABLIS
The minerality of its wines or the beauty of its landscapes are often mentioned: Chablis is much more than that. Between its combes, valleys, and multiple exposures, the chardonnay grape variety offers here an exciting range of expressions. The 7 grand crus, but even more so the premier crus, constitute a true paradise for wine lovers with fabulous value for money. Here is an overview of the most famous climates of Chablis by those who make them.
CHÂTEAU COUTET
One must be a little crazy or passionately in love with these "objects" of beauty and culture to produce these great Sauternes wines of absolute excellence today. The Baly family, undoubtedly, are a bit of both. First classified growth in 1855, a gem of Barsac, Coutet has found with the Baly family guardians who are up to the task.
Report.
MARIE-THÉRÈSE CHAPPAZ
Her name is famous worldwide, and with her, the name of her Valais grape varieties, native varieties grown on the hillsides of Valais, a spectacular vineyard classified as a World Heritage site by UNESCO. From her Grains Nobles to her Grain Ermitage, Grain Arvine, or other Grain Sauvage, Marie-Thérèse Chappaz creates unique wines, sincere, of pure emotion.
RODOLPHE PÉTERS
On his grand cru plots in the Côte des Blancs, he shapes refined cuvées with exceptional aging potential. Salty, bitter, citrusy, almond, creamy, chalky, fullness, persistence: Rodolphe Péters transposes the soul of Mesnil-sur-Oger into his wines and remains faithful to the Champagne DNA of blending.
A luminous encounter.
ROC DES ANGES
In this wild Roussillon where the vines are beaten by the sun and the Tramontane wind, Marjorie and Stéphane Gallet have planted their roots 20 years ago and realized their dream of pure, nervous wines. A style as taut as a bow for wines rising towards the sky and the angels.
The duo opened the doors of their raw stone cellar in an arid Far West setting.
GÉRARD PERSE AND YANNICK ALLÉNO
In Saint-Emilion, two personalities meet, two fighters who have forged their destiny solely through their willpower. Gérard Perse, the master of Château Pavie, and Yannick Alléno, the chef with 14 Michelin stars, join forces to make La Table de Pavie shine and enhance the food and wine pairings. A delicious program they tell us all about.
DOMAINE DE L'ARLOT
With its two emblematic monopoles, Clos de l'Arlot and Clos des Forêts Saint Georges, this flagship estate in the Côte de Nuits has taken a big step forward in terms of quality thanks to the work carried out under the guidance of technical director Géraldine Godot.
We headed to Prémeaux-Prissey to learn more.
SPECIAL CORSICA
Since its foundation by the Phoenicians, wine has inhabited this country and its soul. However, the identity of Corsican vineyards had been diluted along the way, "colonized" by mainland grape varieties and mass production. In the 1970s, committed and visionary winemakers unite and launch a great cultural revolution that is now bearing fruit with the return of native grape varieties in all Corsican AOPs. We invite you on this journey into the heart of the heritage, history, and DNA of Corsican wines.
