Description
The clos Rougeard, the Foucaults. Two names that evoke one of the most prestigious wine estates in France. Lords of Saumur Champigny, the Foucaults flourish on a terroir of unforgettable reds since the 17th century. Cultivating with fervor the ancestral practices, they have proven that the past always has a future. Françoise Foucault, wife of the late Charlie, passionately tells us how the Chacé estate, through this long labor of time, has ended up reaching for the stars, how she herself, a small seamstress from Saumur, has elevated her Château Yvonne to the heights of the great whites of the Loire. About the author: Françoise Foucault created and directed Château Yvonne, the estate of the Payot-Rivage editions from 1996 to 2007. Michel Pateau, a former journalist from the local press, a privileged witness to the evolutions of the Angevin terroir for having directed for many years a magazine rooted in the culture, history, and heritage of his province, has published numerous works on his region as well as a biography of Jean Cayrol, published by Seuil in 2011.
