Description
Champagne Brut "Ullens" Domaine de Marzilly
The Domaine de Marzilly is nestled in the heart of the eponymous village, in the northernmost region of Champagne. Founded by the passionate Maxime Ullens, this family estate produces champagnes full of character, respecting traditions and local biodiversity. The adventure began in 2012, when Maxime and his father acquired the ruins of the Château de Marzilly, a 12th-century building that had been abandoned. Guided by soil analyses and local archives, they rediscover the wine-growing history of Marzilly. Inspired by the rich terroirs of the massif and the traditional methods of Champagne winemaking, Maxime Ullens abandoned his renovation work in Belgium to create the domaine de marzilly and its famous Ullens champagne. A story of passion and preservation of the Champagne heritage.
The Champagne Brut "Ullens" from Domaine de Marzilly is an elegant blend of 56% Pinot Meunier, 37% Chardonnay and 7% Pinot Noir. Designed by Maxime Ullens, it was voted best vigneron 2020 in Champagne by Gault and Milau. This brut champagne, dosed at 4g/l, has a light colour with dark yellow reflections and can be aged for 5 to 10 years. On the nose, it reveals aromas of yellow fruits, white flowers, honey; acacia and toasted brioche. It is strongly recommended to enjoy it at a temperature between 8 and 10 degrees, its palate is full, intense, with a frank and fresh attack, offering a beautiful length in the mouth. A memorable experience for champagne lovers.
