Description
Champagne Champagne Brut "R de Ruinart" Champagne Ruinart
LA MAISON de Champagne Ruinart , founded in 1729, is one of the oldest champagne houses in the world. Its founder, a visionary monk, was at the origin of this exceptional adventure. LA MAISON Ruinart uses Chardonnay as his signature and honours the terroirs of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims. The exploration of the chalk quarries of Ruinart allows you to dive into its history and discover its ancestral production methods. These chalk pits, former white chalk quarries, are located 40 metres underground, stretching for 8 kilometres and two levels. They offer ideal conditions for the ageing of la maison wines. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, these chalk cathedrals are a unique treasure of the Champagne region, where the emblematic sparkling wines of Ruinart are born and aged.
The Brut Champagne "R de Ruinart" by la maison Ruinart is the signature cuvée of la maison. It is composed of a judicious blend of 40% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir and 15% Pinot Meunier, followed by a variation of 25% to 30% of reserve wines depending on the year. The vines have an average age of 25 years and are mainly located on the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims. Vinification begins with alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel vats followed by complete malolactic fermentation. With a dosage of 8 grams per litre, this champagne reveals a brilliant golden colour and fine bubbles. On the nose, lively and fruity aromas mingle, reminiscent of white-fleshed fruits, dried fruits and flowers. On the palate, it offers a frank attack, a nice balance, a slight roundness and flavors of ripe fruits such as nectar and reine-claude. It is the ideal accompaniment to an exquisite aperitif or a fine and delicate gastronomic repas .
