Description

Under the cross and the plow, Burgundy, in the year of our Lord 1120. Deposited in a basket in front of the door of an abbey, young Simon is entrusted to a family of peasants. Orphaned, solitary, and combative, he grows up observing nature, feeling at home only among plants and animals. At the age of 12, he hits the road and is hired at the same Cistercian abbey where he was found. Here, back "home," he puts his solid knowledge of nature to good use by learning winemaking, in which he shows exceptional talent... Through the entire life of this character, we follow the evolution of a Cistercian abbey established in Burgundy along with the techniques of winemaking in the Middle Ages.
