Description
Author: Claude MULLER
After about fifteen years of patient research, Claude Muller gradually establishes the memory of the Alsace vineyard (published in November 1997). After 3 volumes dedicated to the 18th century, the 19th century, and the first half of the 20th century, here is volume 4 discussing the 17th century. The book reviews the viticultural years from 1600 to 1699 (century year: 1653), based on information gathered by generations of scholars and supplemented with unpublished documents. It includes remarks on the quantity and quality of each harvest, climatic considerations, descriptions of cultivation methods and grape varieties, information on the wine trade, and descriptions of the Alsace vineyard.
