Pamina is a brilliant young luthier, a worthy granddaughter of Hortense Schmidt, who worked in Japan during the Second World War.

Hired in the workshop of a famous Parisian luthier, Pamina is entrusted with a very precious cello, a Goffriller. While dismantling it to repair it, the young woman discovers, hidden in a cleat, a letter that will lead her on the trail of destinies shattered by the war.
