Description
"First and foremost, this is a book linked to a celebration of working-class wine that I experienced through my father, neighbors, or a certain taste of the landscape, in the form of personal chronicles. Not very proud of this little local wine, a rather stiff, fragile Gamay, and slightly acidic due to a lack of direct sunlight, I still dared to evoke, barely touching on the history of these wines carried by barges to the cellars of Bercy, the bitter, popular, and thwarted past and nearly-present of these local grape varieties. However, this is not a book studying wine, not even a local contribution on Auvergne wine. It is a music that plays in a private and public mode. Wine, as a negotiator of destinies, has more to say than a simple chronicle. Only this shifted memory interests me. The memory of people in their daily lives marked by it, crafted in cellars, good or mediocre in their turn."
