"Before presenting the poster, I would like to take the liberty of giving you three points about my background in order to quickly explain my involvement in this competition.

1. I'm a cartoonist
2. I set up my graphic design and study workshop in Ladoix-Serrigny in 2018.
3 . And since August 2023, ma family and I have become Ladoisians.



Because of my residential and professional location, I could only accept, with great enthusiasm, the challenge proposed by Chloé Chevalier and Anaïs Carnet to participate in the poster contest of this 81st Saint-Vincent Tournante. Thank you girls!

So in this poster, I wanted to bring together everything that the village evokes in my eyes and it represents a lot!

My ideas were forged through tastings at Pierrot Ravet's who always welcomed us with enthusiasm and generosity, what a laugh! invigorating walks in the Corton and gourmet walks too, pigeons at Patrice and Valérie Sanchez's, Serge and his bees, the wine cellar of Les Demoiselles which is full of treasures.

It is all these elements that fed my imagination and allowed the development of this poster. We had to combine all this in an A2 format, without forgetting the Saint, the main hero.

For me, it was necessary to place a patron saint at the heart of the poster and then tell a story, that of Ladoix-Serrigny, in a festive and welcoming way in order to invite as many people as possible to come and participate in this celebration of mutual aid and solidarity.

Here is the Saint Vincent and his attributes: a martyr's palm, a sacred book and a millstone at his feet. Placed in the centre of the poster, it blows on the hailclouds in order to spare the vines of the Ladoix-Serrigny winegrowers. The sun shines on the left and highlights some of the emblems of Ladoix such as the chapel, the church, and the communal buildings, the castle, the old mill, the Lauve and its ducks!, the magnificent hillside, its woods and its quarries in the background. However, I didn't want to remain backward-looking and so I drew children holding hands to represent the modernity and future of the town. I also wanted to highlight the various economic activities of Ladoix such as stone, barrels, beehives, bottles, (electric) bicycles. And then how can we not represent the international emblem of Ladoix, namely its gourmet walk, a gathering of all the winegrowers of the town to share the pleasure of wine and celebration.

In short: joy, sharing, hope in this mixture of air, water, fire and this nourishing earth to protect.

Delighted and touched by this selection, I would like to warmly thank the communication commission and the board of directors who selected my illustration, as well as ma wonderful family: Charles, Rose, Arthur, Maman, Christian and May-Lin, who accompanied and supported me throughout the development of this drawing. »
Louise's Journey

Born in Burgundy, Louise grew up between Nuits-Saint-Georges, Aloxe-Corton and Ladoix-Serrigny with her family of hoteliers-restaurateurs and winegrowers.

After studying in Lyon, where she obtained a diploma in cartooning and design, she specialized in children's publishing. She produces children's books and press cartoons. She then joined Benneton Graveur, a well-known Parisian engraving house. She flourished artistically by making personalized and heraldic drawings for engraving purposes.

Back in Burgundy, she was reunited with her family and her husband, Charles, who had vigneron in Vosne-Romanée. It was in 2018 that she set up her graphic design and study workshop in Ladoix-Serrigny. Louise mainly creates visual identities and posters for Burgundian wine estates as well as for estates in more distant countries such as Anjou, Jura, Italy and Japan.

She will also take up residence in the municipality in August 2023.
