Description
Grapevines first arrived in 1788, and winemaking became a large industry by the mid-19th Century.
British immigrant James Busby brought clippings of over 600 different European grape varieties in 1831 and is considered the father of Australian wine. Today, Australia is the sixth largest wine-producing country, making some of the world's best known and most sought-after wines.
