This does not claim to be a linguistic study. Its simply aims to help lovers of the Chablis terroir comprehend the sometimes strange and often unique names they find on its wien labes, and to aid wine industry professionnals understand something of the history of the wines they produce. It will also help hikers understand the history of the trails leading them through these places rich with history and heritage.
