Celebration of drunkenness

Drunkenness as an open door to another realm, in the great Chinese tradition. The realm of creation where wine overflows reason, the suspended time of festivities and celebrations, but also the rules and protocols that try to regulate its use. Jacques Pimpaneau intertwines reflections, stories, anecdotes, legends, and poems to reveal to us the virtues of wine and this Chinese way of life that, for centuries, the greatest artists—painters, calligraphers, essayists—have practiced with excess or refinement.
