The vine occupies a prominent place in the history of Moissac: it has always been present since the founding of the city, during Roman times, and has played a significant role in the reputation of the city. Various means of investigation have been used, in addition to the testimonies of winegrowers, including the Archives of Moissac, Montauban, Montpellier, Paris... interviews with researchers, and of course photographs to recount this history, which aims to be diverse and meticulously analyzes the political and economic causes of the establishment and development of Chasselas viticulture in the Middle Garonne region, as well as the evolution of techniques and the undeniable impact on the societies and culture of Quercy.
