Description

Since 2002, the work of François DAL and his colleagues at I on wood diseases has been extremely valuable for French and international viticulture.

This work was the subject of a first edition in 2008. This was completed and improved in 2013.

Since then, the Centre-Loire through its interprofessional organizations has continued to refine its work and share it, especially during numerous training sessions held throughout France and also in many other countries.

This third edition of the pruning guide naturally emerged. Many explanations have been refined, especially those concerning the training of young vines.

This reference manual details the main pruning systems: the Guyot, the Cordon de Royat, and the Gobelet. It helps understand the mistakes that lead to premature aging of the vines as well as their mortality, particularly in the form of wood diseases.

It also describes the different proven curative techniques that allow to restore vines showing increased symptoms of these diseases.

Easy to read, rigorous, and demanding, this manual is aimed at technicians, pruners, and students.
