Description
Author: Maurice Chappaz
This small book, which praises the wines from the slopes and hills of Romandie, combines all the convivial aspects linked to wine: flavors and colors, pleasures, freedom of speech and thought, solidarity, and a close connection with both the ancestors and the stars. It was first published in the 1980s.
This praise may seem rather professional and marginal compared to Chappaz's poetic work, as the writer was at once a vineyard owner, a knowledgeable connoisseur, and a lover of vines and wine. However, the coherence with the author's life in all its facets is such that the three main lines of his poetry are fully reflected in it: lyricism and communicative joy, laughter and unrestrained celebrations, presence of death and metaphysical concerns.
