Description

TRÉVALLON: A UNIQUE ESTATE, INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED WINES

In the heart of the Alpilles, in a beautiful natural setting, the Domaine de Trévallon gives birth to nectars of rare finesse that are undoubtedly among the greatest wines in the world.

It was in 1973 that Eloi and Floriane Dürrbach wrote the first page of one of the most beautiful success stories in Provence, Trévallon was born. And the story continues with Ostiane Dürrbach Icard, who takes over the destiny of the family estate, helped by her brother Antoine.

This unique estate was born from the intuition of Eloi Dürrbach, an outstanding vigneron who has always led his precious vineyard of 17 hectares in the deepest respect for nature. Like an artist, he listens to his vines, lets his terroir express itself by intervening as little as possible in winemaking. The result is wines that impress with their inimitable style and level of excellence confirmed by the release of each new vintage.

This superb book takes us behind the scenes of this mythical estate. With the complicity of photographers Hans Silvester, Denis Laveur and Thierry Veson, the author tells us the genesis of Trévallon and its unusual story written by a family of artists.

Words and photographs are thus combined as in a poem to give this work its full dimension. It was in 2016 that Guy Jacquemont, the author, met Eloi Dürrbach and convinced him of the project.

"Of course, I knew the great wines of Trévallon, but Eloi fascinated me with his personality, his simplicity and impressed me by his vision of wine, his taste for freedom and the strength of his intuitions."

The author spent three years at the estate to be inspired by the soul of Trévallon, he met those who make Trévallon on a daily basis, those who share his wines for 40 vintages now and those who have a high degree of friendship with Eloi and his family.

Without a doubt, the originality of the book, which devotes a great deal of space to the members of the estate's team as well as to loyal friends, whether they are recognized winemakers, sommeliers, great chefs or wine importers.

By penetrating the soul of Trévallon, the author has also realized his own dream of discovering, not only a great wine, but an exceptional wine. The reader will thus plunge into the wild charm of Trévallon and in the sobriety of its landscapes and its men, he will better understand the high degree of requirement of a man who made what Trévallon is today.
