The first village on the Côte de Beaune, very old. A Merovingian cemetery was discovered during the digging of a cellar. An old priory is probably the origin of the village. In 1503 there was already a vigneron. This village has a vineyard of remarkable quality as it holds renowned appellations such as LADOIX premier cru, ALOXE-CORTON, CORTON-CHARLEMAGNE and CORTON.
Since the publication of this book, two new localities have benefited from the Premier Cru appellation since 2002: Les Gréchons and Les Hautes Mourottes.
Located in the heart of the coast, it has the particularity of producing wines of very rare quality. It represents the synthesis of the wines of the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits. The geological homogeneity of the Corton massif gives a characteristic terroir taste to these wines. The Grands Crus only develop after 6 to 8 years in the bottle. These wines, stocky, tannic, robust, harmonious, giving off a violet scent, of great generosity, are jewels of the coast. This book explains the correspondence of the Corton with the Chambertin.
This village is made up of several hamlets. Ladoix on the main road criss-crossed by a stream that weaves its way between vineyards and houses. Serrigny has a special charm, grouped around its castle. The winegrowers are particularly welcoming.
The vineyard map is in colour with an incomplete list of winegrowers (missing in particular the MALLARD father and son estate, of exceptional quality) with their different productions. The heritage of the town is rich with its church, its chapel from the eleventh and thirteenth centuries, the mill of La Camille, the castle, the quarries and other factories.
