Description
Fine Burgundy Spirits "La Grande" from the Distillerie Mazy
Located on the Route des Grands Crus de Bourgogne, the Distillerie Mazy produces high quality Burgundy Liqueurs, Macs & Fines and Eaux-de-vie. Distillation is carried out using artisanal methods where quality takes precedence over quantity.
This Fine de Bourgogne "La Grande" from the Distillerie Mazy is a traditional Burgundian eau-de-vie in AOC since 2011. It is made from the lees deposited at the bottom of the barrels, then aged in oak barrels before bottling. This cuvée is made from wine lees from Grands Crus from the Pierre Damoy and Bart estates and then aged for 40 to 48 months in French oak barrels, divided between 57L quarters that have contained Cognac and new quarters with long and strong toast. We discover a spirit with a golden colour, shining with beautiful tears. A fresh, floral, tangy nose with a hint of smokiness. The attack is mineral with berries evolving into spicy and peppery notes, then its finish is persistent with notes of gingerbread.
