Description
Spirits Candid Malt Whisky from Michel Couvreur
The Michel Couvreur story began in 1956 when Michel Couvreur, a Burgundian wine merchant from Belgium, entered the world of whisky by acquiring the Molet cellars in Bouze-lès-Beaune. These cellars offer him the ideal conditions for aging his own whiskies. Convinced that the quality of a good whisky depends to a large extent on its ageing in barrels, Michel Couvreur has distinguished itself as an exceptional independent bottler. He imports neutral alcohol from Scotland to age it in the best possible conditions. He created an international reputation and even after his death in 2013, his legacy lives on thanks to his son-in-law Cyril Deschamps and the cellar master of la maison, who made it a point of honour to preserve it.
This Candid Malt Whisky from Michel Couvreur is a unique creation that offers a mellow and melted peat, awakening the senses with a lively, floral and fresh scent, subtly enhanced by notes of toasted almonds. On the palate, it is expressive, oscillating between liveliness and power, with buttery flavours that temper its audacity. The finish reveals a sweet freshness of almond, peppery and spicy, enveloped by a slightly woody touch. This freshness blends perfectly with peat and licorice, creating an unparalleled balance. The " Candid " cuvée embodies sincerity and balance, an Islay whisky aged exclusively in PX casks that offers an incomparable taste experience, captivating discerning connoisseurs.
