Description
SAB'S Spirits Rosé Gin Alambic Bourguignon
Guardian of a centuries-old tradition, the Alambic Bourguignon is located in Beaune, in the heart of wine-growing Burgundy and seeks to preserve the ancestral art of distillation. Once one boiler per village, today there are only a handful of craftsmen carrying on this heritage. The Alambic Bourguignon processes grape marcs and wine lees from the most prestigious terroirs of the region and are among the last to produce the AOC Marc de Bourgogne and Fine de Bourgogne. They also offer a very nice range of Gin and Eaux-de-vie from different horizons.
This SAB'S Rosé Gin de l'Alambic Bourguignon is a spirit obtained after the maceration of juniper berries and 14 other aromatic plants in agricultural alcohol to obtain the appellation gin, as well as the addition of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir brandy from Burgundy. The mixture then rests for a minimum of 3 months in stainless steel vats before spending 15 days in Moscatel barrels and being bottled in bottles topped with a pink wax. It's this finish that gives it its special colour. We discover a rich and nuanced nose, juniper enhanced by spices, ginger and lemongrass, accompanied by a bouquet of wine notes. On the palate, SAB'S Rosé Gin attacks with fresh botanical and fruity aromas with a floral touch. The sweetness of the Moscatel brings a lot of roundness and finesse to the mouth. Wine brandy, on the other hand, brings a wine nobility that reaches its peak when tasted neat or simply with a tonic.
