Crémant de Bourgogne Blanc Extra-Brut "En Espoustières" 2019 from Domaine Louis Picamelot
Domaine Louis Picamelot, founded in 1926 in Rully, occupies a prominent place in the world of Crémant in Burgundy. Managed by Philippe Chautard, grandsons of the founders, it preserves its independence and family character. Even before the recognition of the Crémant de Bourgogne appellation in 1975, Picamelot distinguished itself by the quality of its sparkling wines, making its mark in France and abroad. As an ambassador for high-end Crémant de Bourguignon, la maison continues the tradition of making it using a Champagne method.
The 2019 Crémant de Bourgogne Blanc Extra-Brut "En Espoustières" embodies the very essence of the historic terroir of Talant, with the "Espoutières" climate, dating back to 1226 mentioned through a deed of donation to the priory of Bonvaux. Planted in 2016 by Philippe Chautard, this rare cuvée, composed of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, will seduce enthusiasts. Its delicate bouquet exudes notes of white flowers, jasmine, linden and honeysuckle, dominated by white peach. On the palate, the fine bubbles release aromas of toasted hazelnuts and gingerbread, gaining in amplitude and vinosity as the tasting progresses. The minerality of the white marls of the "En Espoutières" terroir gives a straightforwardness and verticality, making this Crémant de Bourgogne an ideal choice for demanding connoisseurs. The finish reveals a subtle harmony between mineral and bitter orange, underlining its exceptional character. A refined sensory experience that testifies to the rebirth of this terroir of excellence.
