The Domaine Clusel-Roch, located in the heart of the Côte-Rôtie appellation, is renowned for its artisanal and environmentally friendly approach. On steep, southeast-facing slopes, the vines thrive on ferrous mica-schist soils. The estate favors natural practices, without chemical fertilizers or insecticides, to fully reflect the richness of the terroir.

The Côte-Rôtie Red "Les Schistes" 2020 is made from a blend of traditional Syrah from Ampuis (over 95%) and a few vines of Viognier. The vines, aged 10 to 60 years, offer grapes with complex aromas thanks to controlled yields. This wine is crafted with care: manual harvesting, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and aging for 2 years in French oak barrels, including 15% new wood.

This vintage reveals a refined and complex nose mixing dark fruits, spices, and floral notes of violet. On the palate, the tannins are present but delicately integrated, offering an elegant structure. When mature, aromas of undergrowth, grilled tobacco, and a lovely roundness flourish.

The Côte-Rôtie "Les Schistes" 2020 pairs beautifully with grilled meat or leg of lamb. With a few years of aging, it reveals its full complexity alongside game or roast duck. Younger vintages pleasantly surprise with freshwater fish, offering an unexpected and delicious gastronomic experience.
