Description
Pommard Rouge "Cuvée Raymond Cyrot" 2022 | Wine from the Hospices de Beaune Estate
The Hospices de Beaune Estate is one of the most famous in the Burgundy region. Created in 1443, it is a wine estate whose wines are sold at an annual auction, the "Hospices Wine Auction". The Cuvée Raymond Cyrot comes from a generous donation by Mr. and Mrs. Cyrot-Chaudron in 1979, comprising several plots of old vines on the best terroirs of Pommard.
The Pommard Rouge 2022 - Cuvée Raymond Cyrot is an exceptional wine from plots located in the renowned climates of Pommard such as Les Charmots, Les Bertins, Les Riottes, and Les Rugiens bas. This red wine, made exclusively from Pinot Noir, embodies the power and elegance of the Pommard appellation. The varied soils of these climates give the cuvée a unique complexity, with fruity notes and a refined tannic structure.
During tasting, this wine first reveals itself with its purple robe, a sign of beautiful concentration. On the palate, the fruit gradually unfolds, offering aromatic complexity marked by firm red fruits and fine-grained tannins. The finish is long, with a beautiful acid balance. This wine has a aging potential superior to other cuvées from the estate, making it ideal for long-term cellaring.
The Pommard Rouge 2022 pairs perfectly with rich and savory dishes such as a grilled rib of beef, game, or aged cheeses like Comté. This powerful and structured wine will also be sublime with sauce-based dishes featuring mushrooms or truffles.
