Description
Beaune 1er Cru Rouge "Les Bressandes" 2022 | Wine from Domaine Berthelemot
Domaine Berthelemot, founded in 2006 by Brigitte Berthelemot, draws inspiration from family viticultural traditions and respect for the soil. Located in Meursault, this family estate operates 15 hectares in Côte de Beaune, covering prestigious appellations such as Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Pommard, and Beaune. Since the arrival of her son Thomas in 2017, the estate has gained new momentum. The wines, certified organic since 2021, reflect the estate's commitment to biodynamics and environmental respect.
Beaune 1er Cru Rouge "Les Bressandes" 2022 from Domaine Berthelemot comes from the locality Les Bressandes, whose name evokes young ladies from Bresse or thickets ("broisse" in old French). The soil is ferruginous, sandy, and stony. The plot covers 94 ares with a 10 to 15% southeast-facing slope. Composed 100% of pinot noir, this wine is hand-harvested and aged in oak barrels. It presents an intense nose with aromas of violet, black fruits, and finely toasted notes. On the palate, it is powerful and ample with a fruity finish and a touch of salinity. Serve at 15-16°C, decanting recommended for young vintages.
