Lucchesi Hill DOC Red 2014 | Wine of the Tenuta di Valgiano

Description
Lucchesi DOC Hill 2014 from the Domaine di Valgiano
The high-quality evolution of the Domaine di Valgiano in recent years is remarkable in every way. To the north of Florence, in the south of wine-growing Tuscany, is a little-known but qualitative appellation: Colline Lucchesi. It was here, in the north of Tuscany, that Laura di Collobiano settled in 1993.
She quickly decided to cultivate the Sangiovese grape variety using organic and biodynamic practices. The estate benefits from an exceptional terroir, at an altitude of 250m, on hills not far from the Mediterranean. Laura has set up a very high level of viticulture, in complete biodynamics.
The wines have a lot of soul, depth and elegance. A unique definition of the Sangiovese grape variety for a wine of emotion far from the super Tuscan bodybuilt to excess. It should also be noted that the estate perpetuates mixed farming, taking care of 16 hectares of vines, but also a forest and 8 hectares of olive groves and wheat fields.
Lucchesi Hill isLaura di Collobiano's flagship wine! A nugget from a blend of Sangiovese 65%, Syrah 25% and Merlot 10% grapes that expresses itself magnificently on fine tannins and superb freshness on the palate. This is a far cry from the super Tuscan bodybuilt neighbors! Matured in French oak barrels, it has notes of black fruits, spices and liquorice with a very elegant floral touch (violet, peony). The whole thing is persistent on the palate, leaving an impression of childhood blueberry jam.
A wine of emotion that calls the table ... in the end, a lot of flavours and complexity that make Valgiano 2014 a bewitching wine that will evolve wonderfully, like a Trevallon!
