Description
Colline Lucchesi DOC Red 2014 | Wine from Tenuta di Valgiano
The Tenuta di Valgiano, located in the north of Tuscany, within the Colline Lucchesi appellation, embodies respectful and bold viticulture. Since 1993, Laura di Collobiano has transformed this estate into a pioneer of integral biodynamics, focusing on an exceptional terroir at 250 meters altitude, near the Mediterranean. The estate spans 16 hectares of vineyards, surrounded by forests, olive groves, and wheat fields, reflecting a polycultural and sustainable approach. This philosophy results in deep, elegant wines with soul, far from standardized productions.
The Colline Lucchesi DOC Red 2014 is the flagship of the estate, a unique wine from a precise blend of 65% Sangiovese, 25% Syrah, and 10% Merlot. Cultivated biodynamically, these grape varieties perfectly express the character of the terroir. After careful vinification, the wine is aged in French oak barrels, developing a harmonious structure and complex aromas. This cuvée captivates with its freshness, elegant tannins, and exceptional balance.
The nose opens with captivating aromas of dark fruits, such as blueberry and blackberry, accompanied by spicy nuances, licorice, and a delicate floral touch evoking violet and peony. On the palate, the attack is fresh and lively, supported by silky tannins and perfectly controlled acidity. The long and persistent finish leaves a delicious impression, reminiscent of childhood homemade jams.
The Colline Lucchesi DOC Red 2014 is an ideal companion for Mediterranean dishes such as herb-roasted lamb, porcini risotto, or beef stew. It also enhances aged cheeses and pairs perfectly with recipes with Tuscan accents, like pasta al ragù. Serve it slightly chilled to fully enjoy its complexity and freshness.
