Description
Brunello di Montalcino Red 2018 | Wine from Domaine La Magia
Founded in 1974 and revitalized in the 80s by the Schwarz family, Domaine La Magia is a reference in organic and biodynamic viticulture in the Montalcino region, in Tuscany. With 52 hectares of vineyards exclusively dedicated to the Brunello di Montalcino appellation, the estate benefits from ideal conditions, notably thanks to its location in the Val d'Orcia at 450 meters above sea level. The vineyards, certified organic since 2012 and cultivated biodynamically, are composed of Sangiovese vines averaging 40 years old. Fabian Schwarz, who currently manages the estate, is committed to creating high-quality wines, combining tradition and modernity, with aging in French oak barrels limiting the use of new wood to preserve the wine's authenticity.
The Brunello di Montalcino Red 2018 is a perfect example of the estate's excellence. Produced from Sangiovese cultivated under optimal conditions, this 2018 vintage has benefited from a 3-year maturation in 500-liter oak barrels. Its ruby color and refined bouquet reveal a combination of black cherries, blackcurrant, and plums, supported by velvety tannins and a balanced structure.
This wine stands out with its aromas of ripe red fruits and subtle spicy notes. On the palate, it offers a silky texture, with a well-controlled acidity that supports perfect balance. The fine tannins add complexity without weighing down the palate, for a persistent and elegant finish.
Ideal to accompany dishes such as grilled or roasted red meats, mushroom risotto, game dishes, or even characterful aged cheeses.
