Description
Red wine Santenay 1er cru "Passetemps" 2020 Domaine De Villaine
The Domaine De Villaine is located in Bouzeron, south of Beaune, and has expanded with acquisitions in Mercurey and Rully. Bought in 1971 by Pamela and Aubert de Villaine, they applied the same methods as at the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (of which Aubert was one of the co-managers for more than 50 years): biodynamic vines, organic certification, natural vinification, grapes picked and sorted by hand. Recently, Pierre de Benoist, their nephew, has gradually taken over the estate.
This Santenay 1er Cru "Passetemps" 2020 from the Domaine De Villaine offers a dense, slightly sanguine nose, expressing a beautiful aromatic intensity based on notes of black fruits, a little liquorice as well.
The palate, despite a tight and full-bodied structure, remains juicy and supple. The substance, which is chiselled and delicate thanks to ripe tannins, is somewhat reminiscent of notes of cherry stem. The palatability that we perceive at the end, while diminishing the effects of the alcohol, gives it a boost of energy, a silky vibration of the land of the "Passetemps". Keep in the cellar for five to ten years.
