Lorraine Senard is the 5th generation at the head of the Comte Senard estate. The work of the vines is meticulous and respectful of the vegetative cycle in reasoned control without the use of herbicides and insecticides and with a reasonable grass cover, and ploughing on the entire estate.

This 2017 Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru "Les Valozières" from Domaine Comte Senard is the best located of the Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru, below the Corton "Les Bressandes", whose complexity and elegance are found. The aromas of red fruits are very present in this wine. It has a beautiful bright ruby colour, an open nose with notes of black fruit, wood, cherry, cocoa beans, liquorice and a hint of spice. The palate is supple and full with animal notes. Voluptuous, balanced and greedy, it has a beautiful structure with tannins present but well ma itrised, its power and richness in the mid-palate leads to a beautiful persistence on the finish to give an elegant and racy wine.
It will go perfectly with a dish in sauce with mushrooms on the side or with a grilled prime rib.
