Description

Moulin-à-Vent Red Wine 2017 Château du Moulin-à-Vent

The domain of Château du Moulin-à-Vent

has been located since 1732 in the heart of the prestigious Moulin-à-Vent appellation in the north of Beaujolais. The richness of its history as well as the uniqueness of its environment make Moulin-à-Vent a reference appellation for wine lovers. By dint of patience and perseverance, Édouard Parinet, Jean-Jacques Parinet and Brice Laffond have brought the estate back to the forefront. Convinced that Moulin-à-Vent is a land of great wines, they have put their enthusiasm, curiosity and passion to work: with pragmatism and lucidity, they create wines of excellence and shape the vineyards of tomorrow.
The wine estate is spread around the Château, the windmill and the hamlet of Les Thorins. Its old Gamay Noir vines planted in high density flourish on 23 different terroirs, whose wines express themselves in a dazzling way. In 2022, the estate switched to Organic Farming conversion, a logical consequence of the non-use of chemical inputs in its vines since 2009,

This 2017 Moulin-à-Vent from Domaine du Château du Moulin-à-Vent offers a powerful, elegant and structured Gamay. Its aromas of blackcurrant, liquorice, wilted rose and ripe fruit with notes of graphite, as a reminder of its terroir made of granites and piedmont, will reveal themselves after a decanter on gourmet and spicy notes with a beautiful finish on freshness. It will go perfectly with duck breasts with dried fruits and roasted nectarines to play on the sweet/savory side, but will also be a wonderful accompaniment to a roast (veal, lamb)
