Description

Saint-Amour Red Wine "Côte de Besset" Cuvée Zen 2021 Bret Brothers

Bret Brothers is the micro-merchant of vigneron created by the owners of Domaine La Soufrandière in August 2001 with the aim of producing very great terroir wines, mainly from the Mâconnais and Beaujolais regions.
But being a merchant implies a rigorous set of specifications:

• the selection of micro-plots of old vines worked by passionate winegrowers, on very specific terroirs;
• the purchase of grapes exclusively on the vine (100% of the grapes purchased are certified organic or in conversion);
• the manual harvesting of ripe grapes carried out by our team;
• 100% vinification with indigenous yeasts;
• ageing and bottling by us;

all these steps are carried out with the same attention, the same passion as for the grapes coming from their Domaine La Soufrandière.

This Saint-Amour "Côte de Besset" Cuvée Zen 2021 from Bret Brothers comes from plots located on a north-eastern slope, the terroir is made of blue sandstone, from which powerful wines can be made. In order to preserve a maximum of delicacy, the choice was made for a gentle vinification. Vatting for 8 days, whole bunches, then fermentation and ageing in old barrels, which gives for 2021 an aromatic explosion with notes of mint, liquorice, blackcurrant, and fresh pepper, a greedy palate with fine and satiny tannins and a beautiful length.
