Description
Beaune Rouge 1er Cru "Les Vignes Franches" 2021 | Wine from Domaine Michel Bouzereau & Fils
The Domaine Michel Bouzereau & Fils, located in Meursault, is the result of a family history spanning 7 generations of passionate winemakers. Founded by Michel Bouzereau, the estate is now managed by his son, Jean-Baptiste Bouzereau, with the next generation represented by Paul Bouzereau. The philosophy of the estate is based on the idea that a great wine begins with quality grapes. This pursuit of excellence is reflected in environmentally friendly viticulture, where soil cultivation, meticulous pruning, and hand harvesting are essential to obtaining healthy and flavorful grapes.
The estate's white wines are gently pressed before being put into barrels, where they undergo malolactic fermentation and are aged on lees for several months. The red wines, like this Beaune 1er Cru, are destemmed and benefit from cold maceration, followed by a natural fermentation without added yeasts. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for 12 to 16 months.
The Beaune Rouge 1er Cru "Les Vignes Franches" 2021 comes from an exceptional climate located south of Beaune, not far from the renowned Clos des Mouches. The reddish and limestone soil of this terroir contributes to the complexity and depth of this wine. This 1er Cru is made exclusively from Pinot Noir, the emblematic grape variety of the region.
This 2021 vintage stands out with a bouquet rich in sour cherry aromas and ripe red fruits, accompanied by subtle woody notes thanks to oak barrel aging. On the palate, this wine presents a beautiful structure, with silky tannins and a remarkable length on the palate, revealing the full potential of this unique terroir.

- Nose: Dominant aromas of sour cherry, ripe red fruits (raspberry, cherry), and light notes of toasted wood.

This Beaune Rouge 1er Cru pairs perfectly with grilled or roasted red meats (rib of beef, duck breast), game in sauce, or with aged cheeses like Comté or Saint-Nectaire. It also wonderfully complements dishes with mushroom and sweet spice-based sauces.
