Description

Red Wine Beaune "Les Epenottes" 2018 Domaine Albert Bichot

This Beaune "Les Epenottes" 2018 comes from the Domaine du Pavillon which is located south of Pommard, in the Côte de Beaune. In the heart of a walled enclosure, there is a winery, a cellar and an eighteenth-century ma house. The Domaine covers 15 hectares of vines, including nearly 4 hectares of an appellation held in monopoly, the Pommard "Clos des Ursulines". Organic vine cultivation is practiced with a constant concern to respect the great natural balances. As with the other Domaines de la maison Albert Bichot de Côte-d'Or and Mercurey, the wines of the Clos du Pavillon claim the "organic wine" certification on their labels, starting with the 2018 vintage.

This Beaune "Les Epenottes" 2018 comes from a southern climate of the Beaune appellation, which is located on the border with the Pommard appellation. Its terroir is therefore reminiscent of the vigour of the famous neighbouring Pommard Epenots, but with a more feminine side, a finer and subtly silky structure. Most climats names derived from the word "thorn" refer to places where vegetation of thorny trees, bushes and scrub grows.
This Beaune "Les Epenottes" offers a nose of candied cherry, black fruits with toasted notes (hazelnut, chocolate). The palate is generous and ample with a well-marked structure and melted tannins. Beautiful finish with notes of liquorice and violet.
Enjoy this wine with game, beautiful, finely cooked red meats and classic cheeses.
