Description
Established in 1951, the Coopérative des Vignerons de l'île de Ré brings together all the winegrowers of the island. Nearly 600 hectares of vineyards are cultivated on the island, benefiting from the mild Atlantic climate, the positive influence of the Gulf Stream, and ample sunshine that aids in the ripening of the grapes. The vineyard of Île de Ré has a long history, dating back centuries. Today, the cooperative produces Charentais white, rosé, and red wines, as well as Pineaux and Cognacs, which pair wonderfully with local products, especially seafood and the renowned PDO Ile de Ré new potatoes. This book takes you to the heart of this generous terroir, inviting you to discover an authentic island vineyard.
