Dès 2013, j'ai eu l'occasion de photographier au Domaine des Roches Neuves, fleuron des vins du Val de Loire, et plus encore... Prendre le temps de photographier dans la durée permet de rendre compte du temps nécessaire à l'élaboration d'un vin, de suivre le cycle végétal. Prendre le temps de photographier «Aux Roches Neuves» m'a permis d'être en mesure de capter la substance du travail du vigneron Thierry Germain et de son équipe.Le photographe et le vigneron ont un rapport particulier à la temporalité. Le photographe capte une image, en la figeant dans des circonstances données, mais paradoxalement en la rendant intemporelle. Le vigneron travaille au rythme de la plante, et de l'alchimie de la vinification. Le vigneron doit aussi être visionnaire (comme le photographe). Ses choix du moment peuvent avoir des répercussions sur plusieurs années. Le vigneron doit allier sens du millésime et vision à long terme.Ce livre n'a pas vocation à être un manuel exhaustif. The photographer captures an image, freezing it in that moment, but parodaxically making it timeless. The winegrower vvorks ta the rhythm of the plant, ond the alchemy of the winemoking pracess. The winegrawer must also be visianary (like the phatagrapher) as their choices in anygiven moment con have repercussians for years ta came. The winegrawer must therefore combine o sense of the vintage vvith o langer-term vision.This book is not intended ta be an exhaustive manua/.
