Description
After the Second World War, three Russians come to study distillation methods in Charente. They also discover France, its customs, and especially its beautiful women. It will not take long for a love story to begin between Suzanne and one of them, a romance that results in a birth... The young girl, unmarried, will give birth alone and facing judgment, as the father has returned to his country. For a long time, she will have to endure the sideways glances of her fellow citizens. Her daughter will also pay the price and will long search for traces of this painful past. A powerful novel that breaks taboos and common beliefs about the fate of unwed mothers and the rural customs of post-war France.
