Description
Pierre Arditi, a "very knowledgeable amateur" and recognized wine lover, agreed to discuss wine and good food with Christophe Casazza, which have always been at the heart of his life. Throughout these lively conversations, the epicurean Pierre also let Arditi, a theater actor and committed man, speak. While in this work he shares with us his greatest oenological emotions, his attraction to remarkable wines, and his ideal wine cellar, he also reveals more intimate memories. Sometimes they have a very Proustian resonance, like the taste of his grandmother's roast chicken or the Canteval, a cheap wine that was on the family table when he was young. Sometimes they are colorful anecdotes where we see French theatrical history emerge: his first tasting at Guigal's, which earned him a massive hangover just before going on stage to play Don Juan in Saint-Étienne, his first wine pleasures thanks to the Beaujolais of Lyon's bistros, when he was acting with Marcel Maréchal's troupe. Or his discovery of the Legrand cellars thanks to the great Jean Poiret. A passionate man, Pierre Arditi has a strong voice and is a wine advocate. As the sponsor of the Cité du Vin in Bordeaux, he also wants to talk about his fight against the standardization of wines and the judgments that are too often made about this beverage. Finally, through his memories and with the help of Christophe Casazza, we will cross the doors of the estates that the actor loves, meet talented sommeliers and restaurateurs to taste the world with Pierre Arditi. And thus taste a bit of his world.
