Description
In January 2005, Catherine Bernard, a forty-year-old journalist from Western France, bought three hectares of land in the hills of Languedoc and trained for a profession previously unknown to her. Thus begins another life, a new life. In this very particular region of Languedoc, Catherine learns from the land what cannot be learned elsewhere: to accept that she doesn't know everything, to admit that what she learned during her year at the CFPPA is at best a framework. That now, they both must get to know each other. And this despite the climate disruptions that are already at work here. In this book, she humorously recounts her move, the conversion to organic farming of her vines, and the birth of her first wines. She also paints an uncompromising picture of viticulture today, caught between the paradise of small chemists and the Holy Grail of oenologists. And she bears witness to a lifestyle choice. In the name of the land.
