Description
To celebrate the tenth edition of the famous Guide Cooker, the oenologist and successful author Benjamin Cooker is invited on a cruise on the Danube by his publisher Claude Nithard. For once, the wine expert takes his wife to introduce her to the mythical wines of Tokay. The extravagant and charming Consuela, Nithard's new mistress, is part of the adventure. Opera show at the Vienna theater, romantic drift on a floating palace, gourmet visit of Budapest, brilliant conversations, dining pleasures, luxury train through the foggy landscapes of Hungary, everything could have unfolded in harmony. But these dream vacations soon turn into a nightmare. Stolen wallets, missing papers and credit cards, overly helpful guides. Over the days, Cooker and Nithard become pawns in the hands of characters with shady behaviors. Meanwhile, in Bordeaux, the young assistant Virgile is dealing with a full-blown attack of mildew while Cooker's laboratory manager falls victim to a brutal assault. The famous oenologist is about to cut short his stay when his wife is also robbed of her passport. In the midst of a tumultuous Eastern Europe, Hungarian rhapsodies sometimes turn into cacophony. In this dissonant ballad, Benjamin will have no choice but to improvise.
