Description

Finally, the Anthology of Sacavin is republished. In this classic of oenophilia, we will find the flower of French literature from the Middle Ages to the earlytwentieth century. Reading this anthology is a truculent journey to the land of good wine and the sweetness of life.

By turns journalist, draftsman, decorator, singer, poet, Marc Leclerc (1874-1946) is, by the unwavering attachment he showed in his works for his land of Anjou, entered the heart of his dear province forever.

For, inspired in this by the tutelary shadows of François Villon and Rabelais, he sought to reconnect in his writings with the popular language of his sweet province. After the First World War, the poet, recognized, continues bibliographical works, including the Anthology of writers who died in the war, then Poets angevins of today.

Some consider the Anthology of Sacavin - or "collection of the most excellent words and speeches (verse and prose) inspired by the glorious, subtle and generous wine of Anjou to the authors of all times and to some others", as the tasty jewel of these works. Although modestly the author warns us: "Let us look for something else in this collection," he writes in his foreword, "than what I wanted to put in it, with an eclecticism that sometimes goes as far as the most failing indulgence: some pleasant remarks collected here and there during my readings and that I thought suitable to serve the reputation of this Nectar of which Anjou has rightly glorified for so long. "

It is with unmixed pleasure that we invite you to discover, in turn, the most beautiful pages inspired by the love of good wine, from the first troubadours to the earlytwentieth century. A double treat for those thirsty for poetry and joie de vivre that are lovers of good wine!
