This work, carried out under the direction of Patrick Arnaud, Miche! Blanc, and Marie Claude Pichery, includes contributions from speakers who presented their vision and point of view on designations during the symposium held on Saturday, June 30, 2018, in Avignon as part of the International Days of Enlightened Wine Enthusiasts. "The designation is dead, Long live the designation." This work is enriched by texts from a previous symposium held in Avignon in 2016 for the 80th anniversary of the first AOCs, including that of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. "80 years ago, the first AOCs." This work would have been incomplete if it did not present the International Challenge of Wine Enthusiasts' Clubs that took place in Châteauneuf-du-Pape on Sunday, July 11, 2018. It contains all the answers to the challenges as well as the complete ranking of the Challenge.
