Description

What do we know about the professions in the vineyard and wine industry? Who are the thousands of actors involved in grape production, its transformation into wine, and its marketing? This book addresses various themes related to the differentiation of professions, their evolution, and the relationships between professional groups within the industry. It invites a fresh perspective on the transmission of farms, the implications of transitioning to "organic," the impact of climate change, the work and role of women, the role of oenology in the industry, etc. Bringing together numerous contributions, it explores the terroirs from the perspective of professional dynamics, from Champagne to Argentina, from the South of France to China, and even delves into sake production in Japan. Alongside the work of historians, sociologists, geographers, and other specialists in the humanities, it gives voice to representatives of professional organizations to better understand how these issues are experienced by those who live them. Charles Gadea is a specialist in professional groups and the author of several works on this subject. A sociology professor at the University of Paris-Nanterre, he is a member of IDHES (Institutions and Historical Dynamics of Economy and Societies). Stéphane Olivesi is a professor in information and communication sciences, teaching at the University of Paris-Saclay and conducting research at CHCSC (Center for Cultural History of Contemporary Societies). He is the author of "Des vins et des hommes, une économique symbolique du goût," published by PUG in 2018. With the participation of: Christèle Assegond, Nicolas Baumert, Hélène Chazal, Ibrahima Diallo, Jean-Louis Escudier, Sénia Fedoul, Fabien Gaveau, Camille Hochedez, Michel Issaly, Emmanuelle Leclercq, Benoît Leroux, Charlène Rocafull, Ariel Sevilla, Françoise Sitnikoff, Nathalie Viet, Serge Wolikow, Yun Zhang,
