Description
A well-established tradition: opening bottles of Champagne by slashing them.
Sipping your champagne with elegance couldn't be easier with this sabre designed, manufactured and assembled by hand in his workshop in the Haut Jura, exclusively for the Athenaeum by Jean-Pierre Lépine.
This tradition dates back to Napoleon and more specifically to the military corps of the Hussars, who celebrated their victories by smashing champagne bottles.
Instructions for use: place yourself away from the guests and after removing the wire hood, let the sabre slide vigorously along the seam thread of the bottle, giving a sharp blow on the base of the neck in order to cut it without shattering the glass. Be careful, the neck of the bottle breaks and flies away with the cork at a speed of about 200 km/h and can reach a distance of at least 15 meters. Children are not allowed to pop champagne.
Two models are available, ebony or plane handle.
Each sword is numbered.
Made in France in the Jura, the blade is forged in Thiers.
