A work of scientific popularization, "Biologie et écologie de la vigne" was written with the aim of being accessible to a wide audience, including students from agricultural schools, agronomy students, and professionals in the wine industry. Chapters 1 and 2, aimed at getting to know the cultivated vine, briefly describe its place in the plant kingdom, its origin, and its extreme morphological diversity. Chapters 3 and 4, devoted to vine physiology, explain vegetative development and grape development. Chapter 5 examines the different vine varieties and genetic improvement. Finally, chapters 6 and 7, with an ecological focus, examine the vine's relationships with the natural environment and the plant's microclimate, so that the winemaker can transform a given natural environment into a more favorable cultural environment for product quality.
