Description
The Harvest of a Destiny tells the exceptional journey of a woman whose destiny led her from the banks of the Garonne to the banks of the Missouri, from Bordeaux to Constantine, from the great estates of the Médoc to the vineyards of South Africa. May-Eliane de Lencquesaing, now 97 years old, comes from an ancient lineage of Bordeaux winegrowers and brokers and from an Anglo-Spanish family in the Philippines. After marrying a career officer, she first led a garrison life with her children before managing prestigious vineyards, especially Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande in Pauillac, which she literally brought to the heights of success, and Château Bernadotte in Saint-Sauveur, and then creating the magnificent estate of Glenelly in South Africa. These captivating pages reveal to today's readers the daily life of a bygone era and the hidden aspects of certain events. A long journey punctuated by surprises and twists, of which May-Eliane de Lencquesaing, a member of the Academy of Wines and the Academy of Sciences, Literature, and Arts of Bordeaux, shares the multiple stages and ways to overcome obstacles.
