After two years working in an advertising agency in Tokyo, young Natsuko Saeki returns to her hometown with her family, who are artisanal sake producers. She reunites with her older brother Yasuo, with whom she shares the same dream: to grow Tatsu-Nishiki, or "wonderful dragon" rice, a variety known to be very difficult to cultivate, but from which they hope to produce the best sake in the world! Unfortunately, Yasuo is very ill and passes away shortly after Natsuko's visit. She then decides to leave her career behind and take up her brother's dream in the family business. However, while she is an expert at tasting and assessing sake, she knows nothing about agriculture or sake production. Facing skepticism from some and jealousy from others, the urban young woman will have to overcome all challenges to impose herself and bring her dream to life.
