Description
Since the 16th century, the manuscript of the Chartreuse elixir recipe has been passed down from monk to monk in the Grenoble region. Nowadays, Ayumi, a young Japanese student, travels to France for a book project on Cognac. Upon arrival, she realizes that her destination is not at all what she thought: she is told that she must go to Grenoble to study the making of Chartreuse. Disappointed, she cannot imagine all the secrets surrounding the making of this liqueur... In a story structured around two historical periods with the transmission of the Chartreuse monks - contemporary with the investigation of the young Japanese student, Laurent Bidot immerses us in the fascinating secrets of this iconic liqueur from the Grenoble region.
