For more than three centuries, no wine has experienced a destiny like that of Champagne wine. The elaboration of this beverage is akin to a miracle, and it's no coincidence that a certain monk, Dom Pérignon, was at its origin. But to imagine that it would become a wine of kings and the king of wines was a huge leap. Spanning just under 33,000 hectares across several departments in a seemingly cold climate, the Champagne appellation terroir produces over 300 million bottles annually and generates a turnover of several billion euros. One of the miracles of Champagne is its blend, a subtle mixture that makes it a nectar and the wine of grand occasions and great events. The first Champagne house Ruinart opened in the town of Épernay in 1729. Then came Moët a few years later. Since then, the major Champagne house has entered the world of high luxury by joining the Louis Vuitton - Moët Hennessy group. Will its exponential growth stop there? Some believe so, especially due to climate disruptions. Others, on the contrary, believe it will adapt to new circumstances. Let's hope.
