LA MAISON de Champagne Vilemart & Cie, a five-generation family institution, embodies the quintessence of Champagne. Founded in 1890 by Désiré Vilmart, it rests in the heart of the village of Rilly-la-Montagne, at the foot of the majestic Montagne de Reims. The Maison extends over 11 hectares of vineyards, exclusively in Premier Cru. What distinguishes Vilmart is its bold grape varieties, with a majority of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir, a real paradox for the Montagne de Reins traditionally dominated by Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The estate's vines are on average thirty-five years old, with the oldest reaching sixty years old, reserved exclusively for the production of the "Coeur de Cuvée" and "Blanc de Blancs" cuvées. LA MAISON Vilmart & Cie is resolutely committed to environmentally friendly viticulture, being certified High Environmental Value (HVE), it defends biodiversity and the ecosystem, thus producing singular wines that faithfully reflect the terroir of origin. This careful management allows the production of singular wines, making Vilmart a true Champagne nugget.
The Premier Cru Brut Champagne " Grande Réserve" from la maison de Champagne Vilmart & Cie is a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay classified Premier Cru, coming straight from the terroirs of Rilly-la-Montagne. This champagne is the result of manual harvesting in 2019, with reserve wines from 2017 and 2018 vintages. It is aged for ten months in oak barrels before being dosed at 9g/l, giving it the Brut label. This champagne features Champagne Premier Cru Brut "Grande Réserve". On the nose, it offers remarkable intensity with aromas of biscuit, ripe wheat, pear and cherry. As they open, notes of iris, oak, celery, white pepper and fine mineral notes add complexity and depth. This balance between primary (fruit), secondary (biscuit, bread, butter) and tertiary (minerals, spices) aromas makes it an excellent choice to accompany dishes with a tender texture, such as poached white meats, raw fish in sauce, or cooked cheeses. A real experience for lovers of quality champagne.
